Like every month, Google has today released the monthly security update for the month of October. The over-the-air (OTA) deployment from October’s monthly security patches for the Nexus and the Pixels for the devices that are supported by the giant of the search itself, has already begun and should soon be on the devices. In addition, the California-based company has also made the factory images and full OTA zip file update is available for the instant of update.
While the notification will appear on the Pixel and automatically the devices Nexus, Android, 8.0 Oreo users can choose to manually trigger the update by going to Settings > System > System update. Users on Android 7.1.1 Nougat can also head to system settings and find the option to check the update of the system. The update build number for the Pixel-by-Pixel XL handsets in Canada or Project Fi is OPR1.170623.027, whereas for the other units of smartphones, it is OPR3.170623.008.
The Pixel C has the update version number that OPR1.170623.027, whereas the Nexus 6P has the will to get the update with the build number OPR5.170623.007. The update of the version number for the Nexus 5X is OPR4.170623.009. The factory images and full OTA zip files can be downloaded from the company’s official website.
Whereas, eight issues have been resolved by the security patch that is dated 2017-10-01, six are said to be solved with the one dated 2017-10-05, as was highlighted in a report from 9To5Google. In its bulletin about the update October, Google said that the two security patch levels “Android partners with the flexibility to more quickly solve a subset of vulnerabilities that are similar in all Android devices.
