Judging by the hustle and bustle on Samsung’s official forums, a real storm is brewing in the Samsung before, and it is not pretty. However, what people complain about and what they ask is simple enough — and it is this: “Samsung, please stop the auto-turning on the channel HDMI.”
“To turn my computer on, changes the TV to my HDMI… pretty frustrating when the wife is watching one of his shows,” writes a bored user on the forums, and it is easy to see his point of view. There are numerous complaints that all boil down to this “feature”.
“How can you disable the auto-sensing HDMI? Sometimes, my Apple TV turns on and then the TV will automatically turn on as well, but I don’t want the TV to do it. How do you disable this function?”, request a user of the signing of the “Brand”.
The function appears to have been added in the course of the year 2016. The reason for the apparent inability to disable it is not clear yet.
The function appears to be embedded in the software (or hardware) of the TV itself, since the user has even resorted to cutting up its HDMI cable to see if it helps. There is no response from Samsung yet.
